Global Aids Prayer Partnership

"If the Church of Jesus Christ rises to the challenge of HIV/AIDS it will be the greatest apologetic the world has ever seen," states noted Christian Apologist, Ravi Zacharias.

The Global AIDS Prayer Partnership (GAPP) (www.PrayToEndAids.com) is building a "coalition of the concerned" to end AIDS, for just that purpose. GAPP is a new initiative to mobilize united prayer and action to bring about the reversal and eradication of AIDS.

WORLD AIDS DAY - DECEMBER 1
Since 1988, December 1 has been designated as World Day AIDS, a day of remembrance for those dying and suffering due to AIDS. GAPP is calling for a global Christian response to AIDS and for a day of prayer and remembrance on World AIDS Day. How can you effectively and meaningfully engage your church, and others, on World AIDS Day?  Here are just a few ideas from GAPP:

  • Awareness Sunday..."World AIDS Day...Turn the Tide." GAPP has created a free bulletin insert (Adobe PDF file) that can help educate your congregation about AIDS and pray for its victims.
  • Prayerwalk...6,000 Steps for 6,000 Orphans.  Every day 6,000 children are orphaned by AIDS.  World Vision suggests that churches take one step toward an end of AIDS for each of those children on World AIDS Day.
  • Tell A Friend...Spread the Word.  An online ePostCard is available to send to families within your congregation to let them know about GAPP and World AIDS Day.  Send e-PostCard now.
  • A Prayer for World AIDS Day can be downloaded to use in your church, with your prayer group or circulate to others.
