Narnia Sneak Peek: Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When is the movie coming to theaters?
A: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe opens in theaters nationwide on December 9, 2005.

Q: Who is producing the movie?
A: This live-action film is being produced by Walden Media (Holes, Around The World In 80 Days) and distributed and co-financed by Walt Disney Studios. The film is directed by Acadamy Award winner Andrew Adamson, co-director of Shrek and Shrek 2.

Q: How faithful will the film be to the book?
A: There are millions of devoted fans to C.S. Lewis and his books. Walden Media and Disney are committed to making the movie just as faithful to the book as possible so that fans can enjoy the movie as much as they have enjoyed the book. Doug Gresham, the stepson of C.S. Lewis and co-producer of the movie, has been involved in all aspects of the production.

Q: Why is this movie an evangelistic opportunity?
A:
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe promises to be an exciting tale of action, adventure but - most importantly - redemption and forgiveness. C.S. Lewis is considered one of the greatest Christian thinkers, authors, and apologists of the 20th Century. His Chronicles of Narnia fantasy adventure series is just the right thing to penetrate today's culture. We believe the release of this film is truly a unique outreach opportunity. By clearly conveying the Biblical themes of faith, sacrifice, redemption, and the ultimate triumph of good over evil, this film can serve as a powerful evangelistic tool.
