Donations to MAC received through the mail are handled in the following manner:
- Cash, checks, money orders or credit card donations are handled by a small team trusted MAC employees who open and process the donations. Only information that is necessary to send a donor receipt, deposit the donation in the bank and keep a record of donations is kept.
- If a donation is given to support a specific member of the MAC staff, information on the donor and donor amount is made available to the staff member for the purpose of a receipt letter and/or thank you.
- Credit Card donations are processed through either ECHO (Electronic Clearing House, Inc.) or SPORG.
Every attempt is made to handle donations and donor receipts in a timely manner. All paperwork that might involve matters of a confidential nature will be shredded after being processed.
