Association of Gospel Rescue Missions
Overview:
The Association of Gospel Rescue Missions (AGRM) exists to proclaim the passion of Jesus toward the hungry, homeless, abused, and addicted; and to accelerate quality and effectiveness in member missions.
AGRM-member facilities have a reputation for being havens of hope for all who enter. Gospel is part of its name because its leaders are compelled foremost by Jesus? instructions to actively care for those in need, and to introduce them to the liberating Good News of His Kingdom and all it represents. Its name includes rescue because delivering those in need from danger is the critical and consuming first part of a sometimes slow but always exciting journey that leads to new desires, choices, and direction in life. The word missions is in its name because those in need see each of their structures as a bastion of protection and a refuge from fatigue and failure, similar in concept to those Southwestern sanctuaries built by pioneering padres long ago. Every year, these missions serve nearly 42 million meals, provide more than 15 million nights of lodging, bandage the emotional wounds of thousands of abuse victims, and graduate 18,000-plus individuals from addiction-recovery programs. The ramification of their work positively influences surrounding communities in countless ways.
What we offer:
AGRM tells and retells the story to the church and the public at large, pointing out the need for laborers, resources, prayer, and a repentant attitude toward the poor. The association also connects its members with current news, creative ideas, and cost-saving programs, expediting the continual movement of these ministries to higher levels of professionalism and greater outcomes.
What we need:
Support of your local Gospel Rescue Missions, including volunteer service, prayer, and a repentant attitude toward the poor. Search our website for a member ministry.
